Apple Pie Slow Cooked Oats

Mornings are crazy in our house as they are in many other homes. Between trying to get kids ready, work done, get myself ready and get out the door, breakfast often takes a back burner. So having a meal already prepped, helps to make mornings a bit less stressful and healthy too! This yummy oatmeal recipe is a favorite in our house especially this time of year when we have crisp cool mornings. A warm bowl of oats always hits the spot!



Apple Pie Slow Cooked Oats

Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel cut oats

  • 2 peeled and chopped apples

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 1 1/2 cup water

  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

Place all ingredients into a crockpot and stir. Cook on low for 5-6 hours. Stir in the morning and enjoy!

*depending on how your crockpot cooks, it might take less time or more time so adjust as needed.


I mix mine with a little bit of almond milk and 1/2 a scoop of vanilla protein powder to make it a more macro balanced meal. My kids like it with a drizzle of honey and scoop of peanut butter. Enjoy it how you'd like!
